Transplanting Trees: Transfer Between Groves
Move entire trees to different accounts
Transplanting moves an entire tree from one account to another. Perfect for transferring deceased parent's tree to adult child, gifting a tree to grown kids, or consolidating multiple accounts. The tree moves completely, including all memories and members.
๐ How It Works
Initiate Transplant
Go to Tree Settings > Transfer Tree. Enter recipient's email. They must have a Firefly Grove account (or will create one).
Recipient Accepts
Recipient receives email with transfer link. They review what's being transferred and accept or decline. No surprise transfers.
Tree Moves
Accepted transplant moves entire tree - memories, branches, members, settings - to recipient's account. Original owner loses access.
Permissions Adjust
Recipient becomes tree owner/admin. Previous owner becomes regular member (unless removed). All other members retain access.

โ Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get the tree back if I change my mind?
Only if new owner transplants it back to you. Transfers aren't automatically reversible. Choose wisely.
What happens to my subscription if I transfer my only tree?
You keep your paid plan. Can create new trees or receive transplants. Or downgrade if you no longer need paid features.
Do all members transfer with the tree?
Yes, all members retain access. Their relationship to tree stays same, just the owner changes.
Can I transfer just part of a tree?
No. Transplanting is all-or-nothing. To move partial content, use memory copying or create new tree with selected content.
What about scheduled/private memories?
Everything transfers including private and scheduled memories. New owner gets full access to all content.
