Multiple Trees: Organize by Life
Create separate trees for different purposes
Most families need just one tree. But sometimes separate trees make sense: one for birth family, one for married family, one for a deceased relative's legacy. Multiple trees keep different life spheres organized without mixing memories.
๐ How It Works
Create a New Tree
Go to Grove > New Tree. Name it clearly ("Mom's Side," "Our Marriage," "Grandpa's WWII Stories"). Each tree is independent.
Add Members to Each Tree
Different people in different trees. Your spouse in marriage tree, siblings in birth family tree. Same person can be in multiple trees.
Switch Between Trees
Tree selector in header lets you switch contexts instantly. Each tree has its own branches, memories, and members.
Manage Separately
Each tree has independent settings, privacy rules, and heir designations. Keeps different purposes cleanly separated.

โ Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a limit to how many trees I can create?
Free: 1 tree. Paid plans: unlimited trees. Most families use 1-3 trees total.
Can I copy a memory from one tree to another?
Yes! Duplicate any memory to different tree. Original stays put, copy appears in new tree. Edit independently.
Do all trees count toward my storage limit?
Yes, storage limit is account-wide across all trees. But you can allocate differently per tree.
Can different trees have different Keepers/Heirs?
Yes! Each tree has independent heir designation. Perfect for ensuring the right people get the right trees.
What if I regret creating multiple trees?
You can merge trees by transplanting all memories/branches from one to another, then deleting the empty tree.
